03:18 pm - Luke Skywalker keeps sending me emails
Or not really...

I signed up to a mailing list through a friend of a friend for local events in my city. I don't even go out much but my friend's friend has sunk her savings into this website, and every email address counts, I guess, when going to advertisers.

So there's some charity ball coming up now and I keep getting emails about it - reminding me to get out my vintage frocks, because the theme is recycling. Which is alright I suppose. Except all the emails are signed by Mark Hamill (Hamill is a common name here) so my brain keeps going, "OMG Luke Skywalker wants me to put on a dress and go to the ball with him!"

Five flipping emails I've got so far. And every single time I get that split second step into another dimension. Every single time I believe, just for an instant, that my dreams really have come true and I've fallen through the rabbit hole.

I really am a loopy fruit.

(Indulge your wild theories here)

I put you into my bloglines RSS feed, since I get negative reinforcement to check this flist if you haven't posted.

I'm kind of stoked about your writing and disability posts. I am wondering whether the original stories you have shared with me are currently with editors.

And I don't tend to post much, do I?

I only really post on my journal when I'm taking a writing break. I don't have the health for both. I've got relatives visiting right now (not a euphenism, I just read it back and realised it sounded like I was saying I was having my female times!) so I can't tire myself out with proper writing. Plus I just finished a (non-fanfic) story so I'm on a break.

As soon as I start writing again, I'll go back into silence.

As soon as I get a story accepted by a publisher, don't worry, I'll tell you. I'll scream with joy so loud you'll hear me all the way in America.

I would enjoy hearing a transatlantic scream of publishing ecstasy! I can live without regular blog posts if it means you are writing more fiction. I understand that it's hard to get published, but your stuff is powerful.

When I saw this Dutch video today, I thought of you.

Aw thank you! You're always so nice!

I just got an email from a real life friend today. She'd been reading some of my fanfic! She called it 'erotica' which was very decent of her. Even weirder, she liked it and found my sex scenes very funny.

We live inside such a bubble, don't we? I just tend to assume no one else out there is going to get it.

The video is locked, but thanks.

Oops. Here's the Youtube link.

I don't know why anyone wouldn't like your fan fic.

I showed the link to JP and he recognised the guy immediately. The song's really famous! The funny thing is the subtitles are completely different to the words.

Did you check out the place it's from - picture is unrelated? Wow, fantastically surreal.
